Our Philosophy

At Hyphal Roots, we unlock the potential of mycelium’s hidden, interconnected world to create beauty and wellness products that nurture from the foundation up.

We sought to redefine our skincare approach. Every ingredient in our creations is selected and crafted by hand, ensuring the utmost care and purity.

Our skin absorbs nearly seventy percent of what we apply to it. That means seventy percent of the harmful bleaches, artificial fragrances, aluminum/alumina, sulfates, silicones, steroids, and petrochemicals in mass-produced skincare can enter our bodies.

That’s why we abandoned mass production and embraced hands-on crafting. Using traditional methods, we formulated skincare products that are free from artificial additives.

You’ll notice the difference in feel, scent, and even taste. This change has deepened our connection to our skin, and we believe it will do the same for you.

Our Story

Hyphal Roots was started when a mushroom farmer, Roman, and a massage therapist and yogi, Shawna, put their minds together to create natural products with the true healing power of nature. One was looking to mushrooms for mental health reasons and the other seeking a solution for a skin condition, and thus Hyphal Roots was born.

  1. Hyphal: "Hyphae" refers to the thread-like structures that form the mycelium, the underground network of fungi. It's a fundamental part of fungal biology, representing growth, interconnectedness, and the unseen vitality of the mushroom kingdom.

  2. Roots: "Roots" conjure images of grounding, stability, and nourishment. It signifies the foundational aspect of our products, suggesting that they are deeply rooted in natural sources and traditions.

Combining these elements, "Hyphal Roots" harnesses the power of the hidden, interconnected world of mycelium to create beauty and wellness products that nurture and support from the ground up. It's a name that speaks to both the natural origins of our ingredients and the transformative potential they hold for our customers' well-being.

The future is fungus
